Social Class matters !
Once upon a time I had a writing professor who said never begin an essay with a cliché. Too bad I didn’t listen huh ?
Sitting at lunch with a local provider at Matsutake in Frederick an excellent steak and Sushi bar I was answering the question of why Dreams has had such success with our target audience. The provider was regaling me about the problem clients she’s had and the number of bad calls of late. In the end she asked me the inevitable question, “ what is wrong with these guys”?
Biting into my Sake (salmon) I looked at her smiled and said simply “ Social Class”.
“What” she replied?
“Social class”, I repeated. “Part of your answer has everything to do with social class. Of course the other part of the problem is “you” but I’ll come back to that.” Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve been in this business for 13 years my colleague Mike at Fantasys! has been in this business for over 25 with NO problems…. ever!. Between us we’ve been witness to a lot of changes and been at the forefront of many of them. Correspondingly we’ve also seen many of the same predictable cycles and common denominators repeat themselves over and over. Over time this has led to the Fantasys! Network operational paradigm which all “member” agencies and independents must operate under.Law Enforcement in most places is just doing their job, it’s nothing personal it’s just business. Most of them would rather go after serious crime however when they are given a directive with sufficient political juice to pursue a “complaint” they must comply. This is the system which most jurisdictions are basically governed by in “functional reality”. This also means all this stuff is very predictable. No matter what market you’re in we have observed there are behaviors and unsafe practices which given time will led to the inevitable negative outcome. At Fantasys and Dreams we are dead set against them and to us they are operational givens YOU DON’T DO.

I’ve been in the Escort Industry for about 15 years. In this time I’ve had the privilege and honor to observe many aspects of the human condition. People can in a philosophical way be converted to a mathematical formula.
You know, A2 + B2 =C2… if you already know A and C you can solve what B must be and so on. In a sense it’s really not rocket science if you pay attention.
The other day I was talking to someone who doesn’t work for me and she was asking how am I able to tell the winners from the losers with such accuracy.
“Well it’s simple,” I said. “The women who will be winners I can tell in the first 3 mins of the interview. You see winners all have specific traits in common just as losers have theirs.”
From my observations which many may or may not share,
this business often attracts people with the least of amount of character, marketable skills and impulse control. For the sake of argument lets only take the lowest common denominator and ask where can someone with no education, talent or marketable skills make (net) well over $180.00 (figure is based on industry variances) an hour? This is NOT to say there are no smart, educated people with good souls in this business, there are. I hire them!

I’m the kind of guy who doesn’t believe in shoving my head in the sand and I know entropy on a universal scale is an irresistible force. This is perhaps why I keep up with things. In the math equation called life society is an always changing variable. If you haven’t learned this by now you probably need to go stick your head back into the sand.
The women who work with me have entrusted me with their very lives. Not to be mellow dramatic nor to impress you, but to impress upon you the seriousness my reality. ( No pressure here huh ?) Therefore, it behooves me to a have situational awareness to the best of my ability as to the happenings in the world which would affect any decisions I make or don’t make.
I believe once again America is at a major pivot point as evidenced by the social, spiritual and demographic shift happening before us.
More and more women are choosing the Escort Industry as a viable vocation. The social stigma isn’t what it used to be as many of the pro-ported stereotypes are disproven. Bottom-line for all of the Dreams women this is their choice, they applied to work here. Most of them are in collage or college educated two of them hold advance degrees. The other day I was conversing with a client about the problems he was having in his life and business. Most of Dreams’ clients are rather successful individuals not only in business but to some degree in their personal lives as well. This is not to say their lives are ideal but there is a common thread about the type of man we attract.
This client, let’s call him George, was hitting a ruff spot in his life and career and things were beginning to go south. The one thing he has always been impressed with is the professionalism and consistency of Dreams personnel. Hey what owner wouldn’t love to get compliments about his people I know I do. He said, “I wish I had the kind of success with my people you have with yours.”

I’m a student of many things and for a person of my psychological profile along with being in this business it should come as no surprise human nature tops the list. The human psyche has been a study of mine ever since I read my first human behavior text when I was 12 years old. Ok so I was a precocious child who in 7th grade was reading at an 11th grade level.
Anyway…..
I was speaking to a client the other day and the subject of why someone women choose to be agency woman and others independent. Now I think we all know there are a lot of reasons but this caused me to reflect on my experiences over the years and it lead to some interesting distinctions.
